The photograph here is a man in Bryant Park, laying down next to a street lamp along with pigeons. I believe DeCarava is trying to show us how the man is dressed up in a casual suit, but doesn't care what is going on around him. DeCarava also used a certain and positioned angle to take the photo, almost as if it is perfect. I feel as if the man may be smart but just decided to lay down because they could be either drunk or crazy. They could also be homeless.
