William Eggleston

Born in July 27th, 1939 in Memphis, Tennessee- Eggleston is an American photographer who uses colors and landscapes with cars or people.

He started photography out of high school while attending college using a Lecia. He read works on Walker Evans, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Robert Frank and started experimenting with color photgraphy .Although a college dropout, he became a professor at Harvard in 1973

While teaching at Harvard, he discovered  dye-transfer printing which would make the colors of a photo have more contrast.

He also prepared his first portfolio named "14 Pictures", the MoMA featured his photos in 1976.

An example of Dye-transfer printing is Eggleston's famous Red Ceiling photo.
